''Invisible Barrier' is a short dramatic film about two brothers lacking face-to-face communication. They are chatting with each other through texting, and they felt nervous when they want to talk to each other. INTRODUCTION

Technology is growing up so fast and make face-to-face communication between human fell a lot. Due to the coronavirus and various problems, people stayed home more and could not meet others as usual. It made them use more technology to communicate, and a lack of face to face communication occur. Even if there is no coronavirus, face-to-face communication is being less in the world. To improve this problem, I created a short film in 4 minutes to let parents know why they should restrict their children to use technology and be their children's role model. I created a social reality film for them to reflect on their own life. The problem of lack of face to face communication is becoming severe. To convey this problem is being critical, I chose drama as my video theme. In this video, two actors are Kenny and Jerry, and they are brothers who communicate with each other on their phones. At the beginning of the film, they separated into two screens, and there are message boxes to tell the audiences what they are talking about on their phones. They started to talk with each other from their home to the park, and the restaurant then returns to their home. In each scene of the film, there would be various things to occur. When they went back home, there was a scene talk about Kenny talking with Jerry on face-to-face communication. Kenny could not speak well, and Jerry felt embarrassed when he hears Kenny was trying to talk. It shows that they are afraid to talk because they both felt relax when they used the text to communicate. At the end of the film, a scene shows to the audiences that they were next to each other all the time. Through this scene, I would like to bring out lack of face-to-face communication is being critical and let parents pay attention to it. After watching this film, parents should realise they need to stop using their technology frequently because they are role models. They need to confine their children to using technology if they do not want their children to become speechless.

RATIONALE

There is a case study talking about "How do our young people communicate Today: What is the downside and what can we do about it? Part One". (MentalHelp.net, 2020). The article mentioned, "Many young people prefer to communicate electronically rather than face to face", which made me want to focus on this topic. Nowadays, people are too addicted to their cell phone to chat. They neglect their families, friends and things around them as they are phubber. People will occur accident because they focus too much on technologies when they are outside. It is not suitable for us to live. Imagine everyone is lack of face to face communication skills; what will happen.

Do you think it is possible to live in the world? For me, I do not agree; I could not imagine how to live without face to face communication. But I know if we do not solve the problem, it will become a social problem. This is not for ourselves only. If we do not make change for our next generation, it would be selfish behaviour. We have to solve this problem no matter how hard it is. The article found out why the young people became like this, "they have limited experience communicating live-in person". It means that their parents or family also like this. The parent is an integral part of a family, and they are the role model for their children. Parents have the rights to teach their children not to use too many mobile phones and try to give them more experience in face to face communication.

Also, there is a case study, "How technology is affecting children's social skills and fitness level?" (Business Up North, 2020) research about the average time of children spending technology. The youngest children are three years old, which makes me think that their parents are irresponsible because they did not spend much time with their children. They provide technology for their children to spend their time.
